The renovation of an apartment in the city center of Milan provides an opportunity to fully rethink the interior spatial organization in order to meet the young owners current needs.

The relocation of the bathroom required the raising of floors; this technical necessity became the project’s anchor: a quarter-round floor cutout riser characterizes the entrance and leads into a large space.

The custom furniture defines the internal height difference and becomes the background of the living area as well as a multi-functional domestic container. Predominant material is wood in different finishes: natural with open pore finish and matte lacquered in saturated olive green.
